Description
Are your students wondering about peers who look or act differently than them? Are you looking for a resource to help explain how we are all alike in some ways and different in others? This resource is for you!
Includes:
- Coloring book with one child per page, with an “about me” section that includes mention of their disability (“I was born blind”), and/or their situation (“I use a wheelchair…”)
- Book is printed double-sided on 8.5×11″ pages. Cut pages in half then staple together
- PowerPoint with exact same pages as the book; use to read aloud while students follow along
- Color version of the book for teacher to print and use to read aloud
- “Everyone is Different” companion worksheet (see in preview file)
- Students will choose one character from the book and state at least one thing they have in common
- Word Bank is included with character names, most activities (dance, swim, etc.), and other details
- Word Bank is designed so students can cut/paste instead of writing if needed
- Teacher Guide with suggestions for how to use the resource and directions for printing the books
This resource is ideal to show:
- Kids with differences that there are others like them
- All students that there are a variety of people in our world
Ideal to use for elementary students (k-5), but can be used with middle school students also. Not recommended for high school due to graphics used (may find babyish)
NOTE: The PDF file that contains the coloring books has the B&W version first, then the color version. Please double-check which pages you want to print before printing to ensure you only print what is needed.
You will receive a Zip file with the PowerPoint presentation, a PDF with the B&W and color versions of the book, a Teacher’s Guide, the Companion worksheet, and my Terms of Use.
